Tenerife, the "island of eternal spring" is the biggest of Spain’s Canary Islands. The island is of volcanic origin and is located directly at the front line of Africa. Through this priveleged position the island owns a wide range of animals and plants that are unique in the world. Most of the more than 830,000 inhabitants work in the service sector.
Such is its beauty that Tenerife is probably one of the last European paradise isles. It offers lush forests, exotic fauna and flora, deserts, mountains, volcanos, sometimes snow, incredibly beautiful coastlines and spectacular beaches. The dishes are very special and delicious. The Islanders love every type of fish as well as the speciality papas arrugadas (salty potatoes) with Mojo (a typical sauce).
Consequently, the island welcomes a steady flow of tourists and tourism is the most important sector of the island’s economy. For nature lovers, Tenerife is the right place. The vegetation is unique and you can find exceptional kinds of plants, birds and could also observe wales. The beaches and many sights will make your stay unforgettable.
Tenerife Spanish School
Current temperature:
The Spanish school in Tenerife is set in a traditional Canaries building, the "Edificio Bélgica".
More precisely, it is located in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife’s second largest tourist city, characterized by an extremely pleasant and relaxed atmosphere.
The school has 7 classrooms full of natural light, all with multimedia equipment, a patio, a teachers’ room, a reception office, and a common room with a TV, stereo, library and videos.
In your free time, there are many things you can do such as Lago Martianez, a series of seawater pools conceived by the Canary artist Cesar Manrique, which is considered an extraordinary spot for bathing and resting in the sun. Puerto de la Cruz has small beaches of volcanic sand; the best ones are Playa Jardin and Martianez. On the outskirts of the city the botanical gardens and the Loro Park are a must for the nature lover.
