Because of its particularly unique location, Heredia is a central base for many nearby regions, providing a wide range of access to various outdoor activities.
Though Heredia is a small town, there are plenty of cultural sights and activities that you can enjoy both in the central city and the outskirts. It is better known for being the central base to other appealing Costa Rican locations. Heredia is home to one of Costa Rica’s largest universities, the National University of Costa Rica. There are many international students from all over the world, which livens the city with a youthful and energetic spirit.
