The most important are the Asian Pacific Festival that promotes mutual understanding between Fukuoka and other Asian countries; Hojoya festival is a Buddhist ritual where birds and fish are released from captivity; Tamaseseri festival is held to commemorate the harvest year and pray for a good production during the next.
As a waterfront city, Fukuoka offers incredible opportunities to enjoy along the coast. Marizon Resort for example, counts with restaurants, gift shops, cafe terraces and boat departures to the surroundings. In Marinoa you will find the boating licence school and cruising rentals. There are many seaside parks with different water amusements and aquariums to watch dolphin and seals’ shows. The daily port activity in different parts of Fukuoka is also nice to watch.

The Japanese School in Fukuoka has been opened to the public since 1999 in a five storey building with modern facilities.
The Japanese School is located in the center of Fukuoka, just a walk distance from the city downtown.
The school counts with all the facilities required to guarantee proper learning and make your stay confortable. Classrooms are very spacious, well-lit and fully equipped. Computer room with free Internet access.
Extracurricular activities includes marine sports, such as sailing tours, windsurfing and barbecues at Fukuhama Beach. Beach days also include volleyball and football contests, Big Marble and Mega Bowl. During cultural activities you will learn how to wear a kimono, East Asian Calligraphy, origami, and tea ceremony. You will also visit the old Temple of Dazaifu settled in a quiet rural area.
