Cologne is the fourth largest city and one of the oldest cities in Germany. It lies on the River Rhine where thousands of people arrive to have a beer. Cologne is a students’ city that counts with one of the most prestigious universities in Europe specialized in ecomonics. The city gives great importance to education, tourism and business. Around 40 industry trade fairs are regularly held on the large trade fair area in Cologne.
All that makes of Cologne a vibrant city where Opera, theatres and discos are commonplace and Carnival and festivals take place all year long. Besides, its friendly and welcoming people make everyone feel at home.
The city has its own history and tradition that can be appreciated in the cathedrals, palaces, museums and art galleries. Cologne is also the economical and cultural capital of the Rhineland and has a vibrant and thriving art scene. For instance, Cologne has over 30 museums and hundreds of galleries. Exhibitions range from local Ancient Roman archaeological findings to contemporary graphics and sculpture. The celebration Cologne Carnival starts in November with a series of performing dance, comedy and songs in fancy dresses.

Our school staff will organize plenty of different activities for you to enjoy during your free time. For example, visits to National Parks such as Lower Saxony Wattenmeer, Hamburg Wattenmeer, Schleswig-Holstein Wattenmeer and Jasmund are held. Other options include visits to the worldwide recognized Cathedral, museums, art galleries, Trade fair and Zoo, etc. The Cologne famous Carneval party takes place in February and another option is the Art Fair. Among the sightseeing places it is possible to find constructions, buildings and castles with characteristics of Romans, Medieval and Modern eras.
