“Costa Rica is incredible, learning Spanish outdoors and being so close to the beach is the best memory I am taking back home”
This was your first time abroad?
No, I had the chance to visit England and Canada before. But
this was the first time I got to know the Latin American culture.
What did you like the most about Costa Rica?
Definitely the stunning beaches. The coastal
landscapes are marvelous, palm trees, white sand and a warm temperature, just perfect.
Costa Rica is incredible, learning Spanish outdoors and being so close to the beach is the best
memory I am taking back home.
How was the experience of learning Spanish in Costa Rica?
At the beginning I was a little afraid since I didn’t
speak a word of Spanish. But my teachers gave me confidence as well as the family
I staid with. People in Costa Rica are really friendly so it was easy to practice
what I learnt during the lessons in real life.
Did you have the possibility of visiting different areas of Costa Rica? Which ones did you like the most?
I went to different national parks that were amazing. I got the chance to see rare
animals like squirrel monkeys and colorful big flowers I had never seen before. I also
visited the Arenal Volcano that was really impressive as it is still active!
What did you like most about the school?
The Spanish school in Heredia was really comfortable. I loved the beautiful gardens,
patios and terraces. I really liked the fact that the school reflected the true spirit
of Costa Rica, nature and fun! The school organized outings and taught us typical dishes
and how to salsa! I had a great time and got to meet many people, like Ciara my
friend from Italy.
What did you like the least about your experience?
I must say I was unsure about the food, it was completely different to what I used to
eat back in the States. It was difficult to get used to eat fruits and beans most of the
time. But I was delighted by many dishes like Banana bread, really simple and just delicious.-
